Userlicious

A friend of mine gave me one of these Moo.com MiniCards today, and it made me realize how much space we waste on traditional business cards. A little pricey at $20 for 100, but could be worth it if they make the right impression. Did I mention you can customize each individual card with a unique photo? Totally userlicious.

This month, IDOnline has a feature on Frank Gehry’s IAC Building. It’s a building in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood for Interactive Corporation, which houses brands like Ask.com, eVite, CitySearch, and others. The site is a bit tricky to navigate, but the time-lapse photography of the construction is particularly tasty.

This is Gehry’s first office building in New York City and his first glass-facade building. The site says the glass harkens to the innovation behind Interactive Corporation’s brands, but let’s not kid ourselves here– it’s a throwback to the Miesian glass-skin aesthetic of the rest of the city. Gehry’s earlier ideas for the building are pretty whacked-out, particularly the cocktail-napkin sketch (see the “Design” section of the “Building Design” part of the site).
